We have been trying to get the news out for 2 weeks but with the move came a small problem of no internet!!

Thursday, Nov.1 brothers from La Luz Baptist church came and helped us load up our belongings.    Friday, with 2 trucks and trailers, we head up to Walsenburg , CO , with Jonathan and Mary’s brother Jim.  Saturday, we unload with the help of Stan and Jan Spiess, our regional director and wife and 4 men from the Valley Community Church in Colorado City .  (Thank you guys!)

In about 2 ˝ hours they had completely unloaded both trailers!! It makes the old saying “many hands make quick work” have a whole new meaning!!  Jan brought lunch for us all and we had a great time of fellowship!

Sunday we got up to go to Valley Community Church .  We had forgot to pack church clothes in a suitcase and it was quite an ordeal finding the box with the shoes, then the one with Bill’s shirts, then where did I put the box with belts…. Took a shower and went to dry my hair and the dryer spit a big spark at me and died!!!  Innovative Bill brought in a small heater and I knelt on the floor with the heater on the counter and dried my hair!!!  Needless to say we were a tad late for church but enjoyed our time once there!!!

We gave our name and phone # to the Family Dollar store, in the area, if anyone came in and needed boxes for moving.  Not an hour after Bill had left the information a woman called needing boxes.  Carmen came over and as I was helping her with the boxes, she shared that her X husband was getting out of jail and she was moving into a safe house for fear that he would kill her.  I got to share Jesus with her and pray with her before she left.  She called the next day and we talked for quite some time and the day after came for tea and had a good talk also.  Pray for Carmen- God is doing a work and I know He desires to be her refuge and strength and to deliver her from the fear that has enslaved her for over 7 years.

The next Sunday we went to a little church in Walsenburg called The Lighthouse.  Met Pastor BJ and his wife and Monday BJ and Bill got together for a visit and had a great time getting to know each other and more about the area.

We are presently back in NM for a conference and Thanksgiving but Walsenburg is now officially home ( we even have Colorado driver licenses!)

Please continue to pray for our home here to sell.  We have listed it with Mom at ERA and still have some furniture in to “stage” it.

We took time during that first week of getting out in the community and meeting lots of people and hearing the many needs of the area.  Pray that God will show us clearly what part He desires us to play in fulfilling those needs and for those in this area to come along side us and be part.

We are still trying to smooth out the internet problem.  If you would make sure you use the bglidden@americanmissionary.org address for us.  This way we will be sure to get your correspondence (we would love to hear from you!)  Also we are trying to expand our email list so if you have friends you think would be interested in our news- pass it on or send us their email address so we can add them!!

As we get ready to celebrate Thanksgiving we are so very thankful for all that God has done in the past year for us and the many friends and family He has used in our lives during this process to show His great love for us!
