January 2008

Greetings:

As I write this Paul is in Arizona for a two-week trip. He is going to Douglas, Sierra Vista, Nogales and Yuma. This will be his first trip to Yuma. On his trips Paul repairs equipment, does routine maintenance, installs new equipment and helps train people to use the equipment!

Here are some ways that you can pray for Paul as he works at the stations in Arizona, New Mexico and El Paso.

  1. Safety in travel and that the van will continue to  run well.
  2. That he not get ill. He often gets rundown from sleeping in not-so-good motels and having to eat cheap fast food to keep expenses down.
  3. That he has wisdom and knowledge to fix the equipment. Much of the equipment is old and obsolete with no parts or service available. We do use eBay a lot to find parts!
  4. For patience and grace in dealing with people at the various stations. He often spends many hours just listening to their problems and trying to encourage them.
  5. And pray for us five girls here at home. We now have a small grocery store within walking distance so we can get supplies if we run out while Paul is gone.

Thanks for praying and thanks for giving so that we can broadcast the Gospel to millions here on the Mexican border.

In His love,

Paul, Shari, Heather, Heidi, Holly and Hannah

TO a DOG or TO GOD?

The other day I read an article about how more and more people are leaving their money to their dogs or other pets! Well, I am not so sure about that! I think I have a better article to write!

In recent months two of our older supporters have informed us that they have set up a trust. In the event of their death the missionaries whom they support will continue to get support from their trust as long as we continue in the ministry! Another supporter left one year’s worth of support so that we would have time to find someone to take her place!

Now I don’t know about you, but I think that leaving money to help support missionaries who do God’s work is way better than leaving it to a dog! Maybe I’m just biased! J

We thank God for His provision and we thank God for those who have thought ahead and included us in their wills!

We ended our year well as several people gave contributions from their IRAs. We thank God for each one who gives no matter how small or how large the gift! God uses you to supply our needs and we thank you.
