Four Large Lights Together Called "The Light of the World" in the Temple Court Festival of Lights Four golden candelabras 150 feet high were there in the Court of the Women, each with four golden bowls, and against them rested four ladders. The old, worn breeches and girdles (Swaddling Cloths) of the priests served for wicks to these lamps. |

The Watch Tower of the Flock
Called The Season of our Joy! The Angels Message: Good tidings of great joy! Luke 2:10
The night in which our Saviour was born, the angels' message came to those who were "keeping watch." For, close by Bethlehem, on the road to Jerusalem, was a tower, known as Migdal Eder , the "watch-tower of the flock." For here was the station where shepherds watched their flocks destined for sacrifices in the Temple. So well known was this, that if animals were found as far from Jerusalem as Migdal Eder, and within that circuit on every side, the males were offered as burnt-offerings, the females as peace-offerings. (Mishnah & Alfred Edersheim) |
And thou, O
tower of the flock, the strong hold of the daughter of Zion, unto thee
shall it come, even the first dominion; the kingdom shall come to the
daughter of Jerusalem. |
Feast of Ingathering (Exodus 34:22) Feast of Nations (Zechariah 14:16-18) During Sukkot 70 bulls represented the 70 Nations of the World were sacrificed 1 Kings 8:2, 6 Ark of the Covenant was brought into Solomon’s Temple |
The essence of Sukkot is living with God, not questioning, but accepting, and trusting. A harvest pointing to the final harvesting of the believers. The people start singing the song Mayim, saying, "With joy we will draw water out of the well of salvation [Yeshua]" (Isaiah [12:3; Mishnah, Sukkah 5:1). As soon as the wine and the water were being poured out on the alter, the Temple music began, and the 'Hallel' (Psa 113-118) was sung.
